Final project
Designing
When I first got this project I had no idea what Katelyn and I would do so we started searching. I saw a clock made out of a door and thought a clock would be cool. We narrowed it down to Cd's or a bike tire, we decided that a Cd clock would look cooler. We found our inspiration, which you can see to the right. We decided to split the prep work up. I did illustrator and she did inventor. I designed the vinyl we would cut out for the record, and the numbers for the Cd's. Katelyn designed the clock hands to print out on the 3d printer. Once we had everything cut and printed out it was time to put it together.

Putting it together
The first step to putting the clock together was to make sure we had all materials and to print out the clock hands and cut out the designs, which you can see in slide 1 and 2. Next I weeded out my vinyls two layers, which you can see on slide 3 and 4. Once they were weeded I layered them together, and applied application tape, which you can see on slide 5. I then applied the design to my record. I then set out my Cd's to space them out correctly before gluing them, which you can see on slide 6. Now that I had them set up how i liked I actually hot glued them on, which you can see on slide 7. Once the Cd's were stuck on tight I had To set and stick my numbers on each Cd. which you can see on slides 8 and 9. Once I had all of that done i added the final touches, first I added the device that made the clock hands move, then connected the clock hands to finish it off. You can see the final project on slide 10.

summary
When working on this final project I learned a lot, both about IDEA and just working and projects in general. First I learned how to layer my vinyl without actually layering vinyl on top of another. This caused me to be much more cautious about the space between each circle. I also learned That you cannot put vinyl into a laser because it causes an explosion of some type. Something I learned outside of IDEA was how to manage my time well, this is because this project took weeks long to prepare for and complete, and I had to figure out how to space out my work to finish it on time.
